HOUSTON, Texas. – The Samford men's basketball team shot 64.9 percent for the game on its way to a 113-90 win at Houston Baptist Saturday evening.
The 113 points are the most for Samford since a 116-103 win at The Citadel on Feb. 10, 2018. With the win, Samford improves to 6-5. Houston Baptist falls to 0-9 with the loss.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Houston Baptist took an early 4-1 lead with 18:28 to go in the first half after two free throws by Jalon Gates.
- Samford fought back to take a 15-10 lead with 15:26 to go in the half after a layup by Sharkey.
- The Bulldogs stretched their lead to 18 points at 55-37 after a three-pointer by Austin with 2:46 left in the first half.
- Houston Baptist, however, closed the half with an 8-0 run, and Samford led, 55-45 at halftime.
- HBU cut the Samford lead to four points early in the second half at 59-55 with 17:45 to go after a three-pointer by Ty Dalton.
- After the lead was cut to just three at 67-64, Samford scored the next six points to push the lead back out to 73-64 with 13:19 left after a three-pointer by Austin.
- Samford took control from that point on, leading by as many as 23 points in the second half and the Bulldogs came away with the 113-90 win.
