BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Both basketball teams and all of Samford's spring sports are now in action as the spring continues for the Bulldogs.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The men's basketball team earned an 80-76 overtime win over Chattanooga in the team's lone game of the week Saturday.
Josh Sharkey scored 27 points and dished out seven assists in leading Samford to the win.
This week, the Bulldogs will go back out on the road for a pair of games. Samford will play at Mercer Thursday night at 6 p.m. (CT), and the team will then play at The Citadel Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT). Links to follow both games are below.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The women's basketball team earned a pair of home Southern Conference wins last week. The Bulldogs defeated Western Carolina Thursday, 58-43. The team then earned a 57-53 win over UNCG Saturday. In the win over UNCG,
Ta'Naisha Hill scored a career-high 26 points to lead the Bulldogs.
This week, the Bulldogs will play at Chattanooga Thursday at 6 p.m. (CT). The team will then play at ETSU Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT). Links to follow both games are below.

BASEBALL
The Samford baseball team opened its 2019 season with a three-game series at South Florida last weekend. The Bulldogs won the Saturday game, 7-3, but fell in the Friday and Sunday games by scores of 7-4 and 4-1.
The baseball team's midweek game scheduled for Tuesday vs. North Alabama was rained out, and will now be played April 3 at 6:30 p.m. This weekend, the team will host Xavier in a three-game series. The teams are scheduled to play Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. For links to follow all of the action, click on the link below.

SOFTBALL
The Samford softball team played six games last week, going 3-3 in the contests. The team started the week by dropping two games to North Alabama by scores of 5-1 and 7-3. The Bulldogs went 3-1 in the Samford Classic, claiming wins over DePaul (6-0), Eastern Illinois (7-4) and Georgia State (5-1), and dropping one contest to DePaul (5-2).
Madison Couch homered twice in the win over DePaul.
This week, the softball team will compete in a tournament at defending national champion Florida State. The team will take on Lipscomb (Friday at 10 a.m.), Elon (Friday at 12:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m.) and No. 1-ranked Florida State (Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m.). TRACK AND FIELD
The track and field team will compete in the Southern Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 23-24 in Lexington, Va.
MEN'S GOLF
The men's golf team finished second in the La Tour Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday. Individually,
Harlan Winn tied for third with a three-round score of 214 (70-70-74).
Men's golf will return to action on Mar. 15-17 at the GCU Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
WOMEN'S GOLF
The women's golf team opened its spring season at the Amelia Island Collegiate, Monday and Tuesday. The Bulldogs finished 10
th out of 16 teams in the event.
Emily Uhland led the Bulldogs, individually, finishing 19
th overall.
The women's golf team will return to action on Mar. 11-12 at the Spring Break Shootout in Dade City, Fla.
MEN'S TENNIS
The men's tennis team played just one match last week. The Bulldogs earned a 6-1 win over Alabama A&M Friday night.
This week, the Bulldogs will host UAB Friday at 2 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Complex. A full recap and results will be posted to

WOMEN'S TENNIS
The women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches in Auburn, Ala., Sunday afternoon and evening. The Bulldogs fell to Auburn, 4-0, and then to Georgia State, also by a 4-0 score.
