Men's Golf Wraps Up Play At GCU Invitational

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Samford men's golf team finished in 11th in the GCU Invitational, played Friday and Saturday at the GCU Championship Golf Course.
The teams played two rounds Friday and one Saturday. Samford finished with a three-round total of 867 (+15). Missouri-Kansas City won the event with a final score of 829.
Aaron Walker led Samford as he shot three-under-par over three rounds for a total score of 210 (71-69-70). Walker's final round featured birdies of the par four first, the par five 10th, and the par four 14th.
Alec Stopperich also had a good weekend, as he fired a one-under-par 212 (67-73-72). The biggest highlight for Stopperich in the tournament was during round one, when he shot a four-under-par 67 featuring five birdies and just one bogey.
