BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Another full week of action for Samford's spring sports is ahead, highlighted by the baseball team's home matchup with second-ranked Mississippi State.
BASEBALL
The Samford baseball team posted a record of 2-2 in its four games last week. The Bulldogs opened the week with an 11-6 loss at No. 1-ranked Vanderbilt Tuesday night. The team then won two-of-three games in a home weekend series with Maine. Samford won the first game, 5-2, dropped the second game, 6-4, and then took game three by a score of 4-0.
This week, the baseball team will host four games at Joe Lee Griffin Field. The Bulldogs entertain the No. 2-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The team then opens Southern Conference play by hosting Furman in a weekend series. The teams are scheduled to play Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Fans can purchase souvenir cups at the marketing table inside Joe Lee Griffin Field. SOFTBALL
The Samford softball team played at cross-town rival UAB Wednesday evening, dropping a 6-1 decision to the Blazers. The Bulldogs then traveled to Oxford, Miss., for three games over the weekend. The team fell to Ole Miss Friday (15-2) and Sunday (6-3), and to 18
th-ranked Oklahoma State Saturday (8-0).
This week, the softball team will host Tennessee Tech in a doubleheader Tuesday at 3 p.m. This weekend, the Bulldogs will open Southern Conference play with a series at UNCG. The teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT), and a single game Sunday, also at 12 p.m. (CT). For links to follow all of the games, click on the link below.

The track and field team will open its outdoor season this weekend at the South Alabama Invitational in Mobile.
MEN'S GOLF
The men's golf team finished 11
th out of 18 teams at the GCU Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., last weekend.

WOMEN'S GOLF
The women's golf team won the Bobby Nicholls Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tenn.
Emily Uhland took individual medalist honors. This marked the first team and individual championship for Samford since 2014.
The women's golf team will next be in action, March 31-April 2 at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate, hosted by Georgia State University in Stockbridge, Ga.
MEN'S TENNIS
The men's tennis team won its lone match of the week. The Bulldogs took down North Dakota, 5-2, in Orlando, Fla., last Tuesday.
This week, the Bulldogs will step back into Southern Conference play, playing at ETSU Sunday at 12 p.m. (CT). A full recap and results will be posted to

WOMEN'S TENNIS
The women's tennis team split two matches in Charleston, S.C., last week. The Bulldogs fell at College of Charleston, 5-2 Wednesday, and then earned a 4-2 victory over Richmond Thursday.
