BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 24
th-ranked Wofford basketball team used a 54-point second half to pull away from Samford for an 85-64 victory Saturday afternoon in the Pete Hanna Center. The game marked the first time a ranked men's basketball team has played in the Hanna Center.
With the loss, Samford ends its regular season with a mark of 16-15 overall and 6-12 in Southern Conference play. Wofford improves to 26-4 overall and 18-0 in league games.

- Samford was led in the game by Josh Sharkey and Robert Allen with 16 points each. Allen tallied a double-double with 11 rebounds.
- Ruben Guerrero added 12 points for the Bulldogs.
- Wofford was led by Fletcher Magee with 36 points.
- Nathan Hoover scored 17 points for the Terriers, while Chevez Goodwin tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Samford jumped out to an early 6-2 lead with 16:25 to go in the first half after a free throw by Brandon Austin.
- With Samford leading, 10-6, Wofford went on an 8-0 run to take a 14-10 lead with 9:09 left in the opening half.
- Samford fought back to tie the score at 18-18 with 5:51 left in the first half after two free throws by Sharkey.
- Wofford then went on an 11-4 run to take a 29-22 lead at the 2:40 mark in the first half.
- Samford closed the half with a 9-2 run to cut the lead to 31-29 heading into the locker room at halftime.
- With Wofford leading, 36-32, the Terriers went on a 10-1 run to take a 46-33 with 15:22 left in the game.
- Wofford pushed its lead out to 18 points at 57-39 with 10:23 to go in the contest.
- Samford cut the lead to 14 points a couple of times, but Wofford used a 9-0 run to push its lead to 23 points at 78-55 with 4:11 remaining in the game.
- Samford could get no closer than 19 points the rest of the way as Wofford came away with the 85-64 win.
