BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Both basketball teams open play in the Southern Conference Tournament, highlighting a full week of action for Samford's sports teams.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The men's basketball team dropped a pair of home games to wrap up its regular season last week. The Bulldogs fell to Furman, 90-81 Thursday, and then to 24
th-ranked Wofford by a score of 85-64 Saturday.
The Bulldogs will compete in the Southern Conference Tournament this week in Asheville, N.C. Seventh-seeded Samford will take on 10
th-seeded The Citadel Friday at 6:30 p.m. (CT). The Samford-The Citadel winner will take on second-seeded UNCG Saturday at 6 p.m. (CT) in the quarterfinals. The championship game is set for Monday at 6 p.m. (CT). For links to follow the action, click on the link below.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The women's basketball team split its final two regular season games last week. The Bulldogs earned a 79-62 win over Wofford Thursday night. In the win, Samford set a school record with 16 made three-pointers. The team then dropped a 74-41 decision to Furman Saturday.
Women's basketball will also compete in the Southern Conference Tournament this week in Asheville, N.C. The seventh-seeded Bulldogs' first game will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. (CT) against second-seeded Furman. The Samford-Furman winner will take on either UNCG or Chattanooga in the semifinals Friday at 12:15 p.m. (CT). The championship game will take place Sunday at 11 a.m. (CT). BASEBALL
The Samford baseball team went 4-0 last week. The Bulldogs earned a 10-5 win at Alabama State Tuesday night. The team then swept a three-game series at Georgia State over the weekend, winning the games by scores of 13-2, 8-6 and 2-1.
This week, the Bulldogs will play at Jacksonville State Tuesday at 3 p.m., host Alabama State Wednesday at 4 p.m., and then host a three-game series this weekend with Kennesaw State. Samford and KSU will meet Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. For links to follow the action, click on the link below.

SOFTBALL
The Samford softball team played five games last week. The Bulldog fell in a midweek game at Jacksonville State, 3-2. The team then hosted its second tournament of the spring. In the tournament, the Bulldogs defeated Jackson State (6-5), and fell to Houston Baptist (6-2), Evansville (4-3) and Western Kentucky (8-1).
This week, the softball team will play a midweek game at Troy Wednesday at 5 p.m. The team will then play in a tournament at Murray State. The tournament schedule could change due to inclement weather, so click on the link below to keep up-to-date on all of the action.

TRACK AND FIELD
Samford senior
Karisa Nelson will attempt to win her second national championship in the indoor mile this weekend at the Birmingham CrossPlex. She will run in the preliminaries of the NCAA Indoor Championship Friday at 5:35 p.m. at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The men's golf team took the week off from competition. The team will return to action on Mar. 15-17 at the GCU Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
WOMEN'S GOLF
The women's golf team also took the last week off from competition. The Bulldogs will return to action on Mar. 11-12 at the Spring Break Shootout in Dade City, Fla.
MEN'S TENNIS
The men's tennis team split two matches last week. The Bulldogs opened Southern Conference play with a 4-0 loss at Wofford Friday. The team then earned a 4-1 win at Presbyterian Saturday.
This week, the men's tennis team will host Tennessee Tech Friday at 2 p.m. The team will then play Youngstown State Monday and North Dakota Tuesday in Orlando, Fla. A full recap and results will be posted to
