SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford senior designated player
Hannah Trombley was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week when the league released its weekly softball awards Monday afternoon.
In three games last week, Trombley hit .667 (6-of-9) with a double, a triple, a home run and six RBI. She had two hits and two RBI in each of Samford's three games as the Bulldogs won two-of-three games against Furman over the weekend.
Trombley was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBI in game one of the series. In game two, she went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. She followed that up by going 2-for-3 with two RBI in the series finale Sunday.
For the season, Trombley is hitting .273 with five doubles, a triple, three home runs and 17 RBI. She has a slugging percentage of .455 so far this season.
Samford will host Belmont in a midweek game Wednesday. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start from the Samford Softball Stadium.
