PINEHURST, N.C. – The Samford men's golf team placed seventh at the Southern Conference Championship, played Sunday through Tuesday at Pinehurst No. 9 (Par 72, 7,118 yards), and junior Harlan Winn was named to the All-SoCon team, which was released following the completion of the tournament.
For the season, Winn led the team and ranks 13th in the SoCon this season with a 73.06 stroke average.
In the SoCon Championship, Samford finished with a three-round score of 909 (297-313-299). UNCG won the event, tallying a total score of 853 (283-294-276).
Individually for Samford, Alec Stopperich led the way, finishing in a tie for 22nd, with a three-day total of 225 (75-81-69). Connor Reid tied for 26th at 226 (69-74-83), while Winn tied for 29th with a score of 229 (76-77-76).
Shiso Go of ETSU and Nick Lyerly of UNCG tied for individual medalist honors with identical scores of 205.
The tournament wraps up the 2018-19 season for Samford.
