SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford goalkeeper
Morgan McAslan was named the Southern Conference's Defensive Player of the Week when the league released its weekly women's soccer awards Tuesday afternoon.
McAslan turned in another impressive performance in the Bulldogs' 0-0 tie at DePaul last Thursday evening. She tallied six saves in posting the shutout.
For the season, McAslan leads the Southern Conference in both saves (50) and saves per game (5.56).
This week, McAslan and the Bulldogs will open Southern Conference play by hosting a pair of games at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium. Samford will host Furman Friday night at 7 p.m., and Wofford Sunday at 6 p.m. Admission to all home soccer matches is FREE!
