BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford senior guard
Josh Sharkey scored a career-high 35 points, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs dropped a 92-84 decision to Chattanooga Wednesday evening in the Pete Hanna Center.
With the loss, Samford falls to 8-15 overall and 2-7 in Southern Conference play. Chattanooga improves to 14-8 overall and 4-5 in league games.

- Sharkey made 14-of-24 shots from the floor, including 3-of-8 from three-point range for the career-high total.
- Sharkey also dished out seven assists in the game.
- Robert Allen scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
- Brandon Austin added 15 points for the Bulldogs.
- Chattanooga was led by Matt Ryan with 28 points.

- Chattanooga jumped out to an early 8-2 lead with 17:06 to go in the first half after a layup by Ramon Vila.
- Samford fought back to take a 19-18 lead with 10:38 left in the first half after a three-pointer by Austin.
- The Bulldogs stretched their lead to 30-23 with 7:07 left in the half after a layup by Sharkey.
- The Mocs came back to take a 31-30 lead with 5:18 left in the first period following a three-pointer by Ryan.
- Chattanooga took a 41-35 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- In the second half, the Mocs opened up a 65-55 lead with 10:28 left after a three-pointer by Rod Johnson.
- Chattanooga led by as many as 12 points at 71-59 with 8:37 left after a three-pointer by David Jean-Baptiste.
- Samford fought back to cut the lead to six points on four different occasions, but the Bulldogs could get no closer as the Mocs came away with the 92-84 win.
