Maggie Johnston all earned Southern Conference Athlete of the Month honors Wednesday.
Carlson was named the Player of the Month for baseball. Moore earned Men's Track Athlete of the Month, Cahoon was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Month and Johnston was named Women's Field Athlete of the Month.
Carlson hit .528 with two doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI in 10 games in the month of February. He had six multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games in the month. His best game of the month came when he went 3-for-4 with six RBI in game two of the UNC Asheville series.
Moore claimed the men's 60-meter hurdle title at the 2020 Southern Conference Indoor Championships with a season-best time in the prelims of 7.81 and a time of 7.92 in the finals. Moore also competed in the 2020 USATF Indoor Championships, advancing to the semifinals with a time of 7.84.
Cahoon threw his best marks in the weight throw and the shot put during the month of February. His best performance in the weight throw (17.38 meters) came at the Jaguar Invite February 2. He had dominant performances at the 2020 Southern Conference Indoor Championships, winning the individual titles in the weight throw (17.10 meters) and shot put, with a season best of 16.06 meters. Cahoon also placed third in the men's high jump at the Indoor Championships.
Johnston had her season best performance in the weight throw at the Jaguar Invite February 2 with a throw of 18.62 meters. At the 2020 Southern Conference Indoor Championships, Johnston won the women's weight throw (18.27 meters) and placed second in the women's shot put with a season best throw of 14.42 meters.
