SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A total of 45 Samford Bulldogs were named to the Southern Conference's 100th Anniversary Team, released by the league Thursday.
The Southern Conference was founded in 1921, and the league has been celebrating its 100th anniversary throughout the year. The SoCon is wrapping up its year of anniversary celebration with the naming of the 100th Anniversary Team. The Samford men's track and field team led all Samford teams with 16 selections, followed by women's track and field with 10. The Bulldog football team had seven selections, while women's cross-country had three. The women's basketball, women's soccer and women's tennis teams had two individuals on the teams each. Men's cross-country, softball, and volleyball had one representative each.
