Slayton Named Donor Relations Coordinator

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University Athletics has named Maileka Slayton its new Donor Relations Coordinator as a member of the Bulldog Club development team. Slayton will coordinate Samford's comprehensive donor relations efforts.

"We're excited to have Maileka Slayton join our development team here at Samford," Bo Kerr, Deputy Director of Athletics for Development and Corporate Affairs, said. "Maileka possesses all of the qualities we were looking for and a sincere desire to help Samford continue to increase our philanthropic support. As a former student-athlete at Kennesaw State, she has a tremendous work ethic and understands the level of support it takes from all stake holders to excel at the Division I level."

The Norcross, Ga., native, comes to Samford after completing internships with Kennesaw State Athletics and the Reese's Senior Bowl.  She also has experience working part-time with Auburn University Football and the Colonnade Group.

"I am excited to be a Samford Bulldog, and I am grateful to Bo Kerr and his team for giving me the opportunity to serve at such an outstanding institution," Slayton said. "Samford is a nationally recognized Christian university that has experienced tremendous success both on and off the field. I am honored to be a part of such a successful athletic department and I look forward to working alongside the Samford coaches, staff and administration to better serve our donors and increase philanthropic support for Samford Athletics."

Slayton is a graduate of Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia where she received her Bachelor's in Sport Management. While at Kennesaw, she was a member of the track & field team where she earned All-Conference honors and was named to the Dean's List multiple times.
