JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Samford volleyball team won its eighth-straight match, earning a 3-1 (22-25. 25-5, 25-21, 25-14) win at ETSU Monday evening at Brooks Gym.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 9-1 on the season. ETSU falls to 4-6 with the loss.

• Lauren Deaton led Samford with 16 kills and 11 digs.
• Briana Holmes had 12 kills for the Bulldogs.
• Emily Naubert led the team in digs with 18.
• Kayla Keshock had 43 assists for Samford.
• ETSU was led by Sanne Maring with eight kills.

 
KEY MOMENTS

• In the first set, with Samford leading, 10-9, ETSU went on a 5-0 run to take a 14-10 lead.
• With ETSU leading, 23-21, the Bucs scored two of the last three points to win the set, 25-22.
• In the second set, with the score tied at 1-1, Samford went on a 13-0 run to take a 14-1 lead.
• Samford built its lead to 20-3.
• The Bulldogs took the second set, 25-5.
• Samford jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set.
• ETSU fought back to cut the lead to 5-4.
• With Samford leading, 14-10, ETSU went on a 6-0 run to take a 16-14 advantage.
• Samford then scored seven of the next nine points to take a 21-18 lead.
• Samford earned a 25-21 win in the third set.
• In the fourth set, ETSU took an early 6-3 lead.
• Samford stormed back to take an 11-8 advantage.
• The Bulldogs extended their lead to 20-12.
• Samford took the fourth set by a score of 25-14, and the match, three sets to one.
