OMAHA, Neb. – The Samford volleyball team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 (20-25, 12-25, 15-25) loss to Wright State Wednesday evening at the CHI Health Center Omaha.
Samford ends its season with a record of 15-4. This marked Samford's third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and the fourth in the last five years. Wright State improves to 17-1, and the Raiders will take on the fourth-seeded Texas Longhorns in Thursday's second round.

KEY MOMENTS
- In the first set, Wright State jumper out to a 5-1 lead.
- The Raiders extended their lead to 17-7.
- Samford fought back to cut the lead to 17-10.
- Wright State extended its lead back to 10 at 23-13, and the Raiders took the first set, 25-20.
- Wright State raced out to a 9-0 lead in the second set.
- The Raiders built a 22-10 lead, and Wright State won the second set, 25-12.
- Wright State again got off to a quick start in the third set, grabbing an early 9-2 lead.
- WSU built a 16-4 lead, but Samford used a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 16-9.
- The Raiders pushed the lead back out to 22-10.
- Samford scored the next four points to cut the lead to 22-14.
- Wright State, however, closed out the 25-15 set win and the match win, three sets to none.

The loss ends Samford's season with a mark of 15-4.
