McAslan Named SoCon Women’s Soccer Defensive Player Of The Month

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior goalkeeper Morgan McAslan was named the Southern Conference's Defensive Player Of the Month for women's soccer when the league released its monthly honors for March Monday afternoon.
 
McAslan had five shutouts, four solo and one combined in seven matches in the month of March. She saved 17 shots during the month, while allowing just two goals in 650:44 in goal.
 
McAslan posted shutouts against Chattanooga, Western Carolina, ETSU, Wofford and The Citadel. She allowed one goal each to Furman and Mercer, while posting a record of 5-0-2 in the month.
 
Samford recently earned its seventh-straight Southern Conference regular-season title. The top-seeded Bulldogs will host fourth-seeded Mercer in the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament Friday at 2 p.m. at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium.
