MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After 110 minutes of play, the Samford women's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw Sunday night, as the Bulldogs tied Middle Tennessee at the Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium. The Blue Raiders scored the match's opening goal in the first half, before senior midfielder Zoe Perrin equalized in the 77th minute for the final tally.

KEY PLAYS
- At the 19:04 minute mark of the first half, Middle Tennessee was awarded a penalty kick after Samford committed a foul just inside the 18-yard box. Peyton DePriest would step up for the Blue Raiders, placing the ball in the bottom left corner of the net to give MTSU a 1-0 lead.
- The Bulldogs had their best chances of the first period come from sophomore Caroline Donovan and junior Alyssa Conarton with 10 minutes left to play. However, both players would have their shots blocked by the Blue Raider backline to keep Samford scoreless heading into the break.
- Samford leveled the match with 13 minutes left in regulation after Zoe Perrin recorded her first career goal. Junior forward Taylor Yount found the feet of Perrin at the top of six-yard box allowing for her to easily slot the ball past MTSU's goalkeeper and into the lower right corner of the net. The Bulldogs ripped off one more shot and earned one additional corner, but were unable to convert those opportunities to push the match into overtime.
- Both overtime periods saw a handful of chances for each team, including four shots and two corner kicks for Samford. The Blue Raiders tallied five shots and one corner of their own, but neither team put away its chances in front of goal for a final 1-1 decision.

- The Bulldogs collected a game-high 22 shots on the night, compared to MTSU's 18.
- Zoë Perrin scored her first collegiate goal while Taylor Yount tallied her third-career assist for Samford.
- The Bulldogs led the corner kick battle 8-3 while also playing an aggressive match for a total of 17 fouls and two yellow cards.
- Junior goalkeeper Morgan McAslan finished out the night with six saves, beating out her season-high of five last year.

The Bulldogs will return to their home turf at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. to compete against crosstown rival UAB.
