Women’s Golf Wraps Up Play At Hoover Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's golf team placed sixth in the Hoover Invite, hosted by UAB Monday and Tuesday at Heatherwood Golf and Country Club (par 72, 5,839 yards).
The Bulldogs were led by sophomore Bailey Dunstan, tying for fifth in the field of 69 players. Dunstan finished the event with a three-round score of 219 (72-69-78). Dunstan led the field after Monday's first two rounds.
Allison Dusek had the team's best score in Tuesday's final round, firing a 74. For the tournament, she finished tied for 14th with a final tally of 224 (76-74-74). Mary Kate Horton tied for 24th at 229 (77-74-78).
Samford finished with a three-round team total of 901 (308-290-303). Florida Atlantic won the tournament with a total of 881 (301-285-295). Letizia Bagnoli of FAU took individual medalist honors at 207 (73-69-65).
The Samford women's golf team will be back in action Oct. 11-12 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, hosted by Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Ark.
