OXFORD, Miss. – The Samford women's soccer team and the Ole Miss Rebels battled for 110 minutes in a game that ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium Sunday afternoon.

KEY PLAYS

Ole Miss struck first in the 48th minute after Channing Foster beat a Samford defender on the outside shoulder during a Rebel corner kick, allowing her to get a head on the ball and place it into the right-side netting to give Ole Miss the early lead.
In similar fashion, the Bulldogs scored the equalizer 14 minutes later with sophomore defender Ella Simpson heading the ball past Rebel goalkeeper, Ashley Orkus, off a Samford corner for her first goal of the season. Alyssa Frazier served up the corner kick and earned the assist.

Samford and Ole Miss tallied nine shots each on the afternoon with the Bulldogs putting five on target and the Rebels with three.
Ole Miss recorded a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks while the Bulldogs tallied 11 fouls compared to the Rebel's five.
In goal, senior Morgan McAslan played the entirety of the match, making two saves with both coming from the second half.
Sophomore Ella Simpson registered her first goal of the season and fifth of her career, while senior Alyssa Frazier logged her first assist for Samford this season.
