GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Samford soccer team picked up a pivotal Southern Conference win, defeating Furman, 4-0, Friday evening at Stone Stadium.
With the win, Samford improves to 8-3-6 overall and 4-1-3 in SoCon play. If the Bulldogs can earn a win at Wofford Sunday, Samford would earn at least a No. 2 seed and the honor of hosting half of the quarterfinals and semifinals of the upcoming SoCon Tournament. If Samford wins Sunday and Furman could earn a win or tie with league-leading Chattanooga, Samford could still earn at least a share of a ninth-straight SoCon regular season title. Furman falls to 8-8-1 overall and 3-4-1 in league action.
