Topiwala Posts Top-10 Finish As Women’s Golf Wraps Up Fall At Mercer Invitational

MACON, Ga. – Samford junior Kelly Topiwala tied for ninth to lead the Samford women's golf team in its final fall tournament of the season at the Mercer Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Brickyard (Par 72, 6,174 yards).
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of 921 (303-303-315). The host team, Mercer won the event with a score of 870 (288-289-293).
Topiwala finished with a five-over par 221 (73-72-76) to tie for ninth in the 91-player field. Bailey Dunstan tied for 31st at 228 (78-73-77), while Christian Williams tied for 53rd at 235 (76-79-80). Kate Joyner fired a three-round score of 237 (76-79-82), while Anika Richards tied for 83rd at 248 (79-87-82).
The tournament wrapped up the fall season for the Bulldogs. Samford will open the spring portion of its season Feb. 13-14 at the Oyster Shuck Match Play in Charleston, S.C.
