Samford Women’s Basketball Finishes Holiday Road Swing at Jacksonville State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – To polish off a three-game holiday road trip, the Samford women's basketball sets their sights on in-state foe Jacksonville State.
The Bulldogs and Gamecocks are slated for a 6 p.m. ET tipoff in Jacksonville, Ala., and the game can be streamed on ESPN+.
Samford enters the all-Alabama affair with a 3-5 after dropping both games at the UCF Thanksgiving Classic to host UCF and Rhode Island.
Wednesday will mark the 35th all-time meeting between the two programs with Samford leading the series 18-16. Jacksonville State is Samford's second most common foe behind Chattanooga. The Bulldogs have won seven of the last ten meetings dating back to 2007.
In the first eight games of the season, Samford coach Carley Kuhns has started the lineup of Andrea Cournoyer, Sussy Ngulefac, Kathleen Wheeler, Alyssa Tarpley and Sanaa Redmond.
Entering the Jacksonville State game, Cournoyer is averaging a Southern Conference-best 19.4 points per game, which is good enough to rank 32nd nationally. The senior guard ranks first in the SoCon and eighth in the country with 155 total points.
