BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Men's Basketball team will close out its opening week of the 2022-23 season by hosting Spring Hill College on Thursday and Belhaven University on Saturday.
Thursday's contest against the Badgers will tip off at 6:30 p.m. and
Saturday's clash with Belhaven will begin at 2:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Samford picked up a 109-85 victory in its season opener against Anderson University on Nov. 7. Six Bulldogs scored in double figures on Monday, with
Jermaine Marshall's 19 points and seven boards leading the way.

Jaden Campbell (16),
Logan Dye (11), and
Nathan Johnson (10) all tallied double-digit points against Anderson. Campbell and Parham both knocked down three shots from beyond the arc, with Campbell going 3-4 on treys.
Samford supporters packed the Pete on Monday evening, with a total 2,931 fans in attendance. The number marks the largest attendance for a men's basketball season opener in program history.
The Bulldogs have won six straight against Spring Hill College, including an 86-69 win on Nov. 11 last season.
Jermaine Marshall posted 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win while
Ques Glover(12),
Jaden Campbell (10) and
Jaron Rillie (10) all scored in double figures.
Spring Hill College posted a record of 9-19 in 2021-22, with a mark of 7-11 in SIAC play. The Badgers fell 81-53 at Tulane on Wednesday, Nov. 2 in exhibition play.
Beril Kabamba, returns as the Badgers leading scorer and rebounder. The 6-7 forward earned SIAC All-Conference Second Team honors in 2021-22 after averaging a team-best 14.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.
Samford holds an all-time advantage of 15-2 against Belhaven. The Bulldogs notched a 133-84 win over the Blazers in their last meeting on Dec. 21, 2020. The win marked for the seventh-largest margin of victory in program history.
Belhaven finished 2021-22 with a record of 8-12 overall and 5-11 in American Southwest Conference play. The Blazers have since transitioned to the Collegiate Conference of the South.
Three of the top five scorers from Belhaven's 2021-22 squad return, led by junior guard Luke Couch (16.9 PPG), junior forward Donovan Givens, (8.3 PPG) and sophomore guard Martavin McWilliams (4.9 PPG).
The Bulldogs will play a total of seven home contests in November, highlighted by a four-game home stand from Nov. 20-27 against Texas Southern (Nov. 20), Valparaiso (Nov. 23), Louisiana Tech (Nov. 25), and Tennessee Southern (Nov. 27).
