The Bulldogs chipped away over the next six minutes with a 13-6 run, which was capped off by a three-ball by Parham as the shot clock expired that tied the game at 24 with 5:39 left in the half.

Belmont took back the momentum by closing out the half on a 14-2 run, notching its final 12 points unanswered to take a 38-26 lead into halftime. The Bruins shot 62 percent (16-26) from the floor in the half while the Bulldogs posted a clip of 41 percent (9-22) from the floor.

The Bruins outscored Samford 18-7 over the opening five and a half minutes of the second half. Belmont kept its foot on the gas and took its largest lead of the night with 6:47 to go (67-43). Both teams tallied 12 points from there, with Rillie accounting for seven points for the Bulldogs.

Rille led the way offensively for Samford in the second half with 10 points while Parham registered seven.
