Women’s Basketball Closes Out Non-Conference Slate With Birmingham-Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the final game of the 2022 calendar year, the Samford women's basketball team will host crosstown foe Birmingham-Southern on Friday, Dec. 30.
The Bulldogs and Panthers are scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT tipoff and the game can be streamed on ESPN+. Tickets can be found here.
Samford enters the contest with a 5-9 record after defeating North Colorado on Christmas Sweater Night in thrilling fashion.
Samford and Birmingham-Southern have met five previous times with the Bulldogs taking four of the five contests. The two squads last met in 2021 when seven different Bulldogs scored in double figures en route to a record-breaking 135-60 Samford win.
In the first 14 games of the season, Samford coach Carley Kuhns has started the lineup of Andrea Bailey, Sussy Ngulefac, Kathleen Wheeler, Alyssa Tarpley and Sanaa Redmond.
Entering the Birmingham-Southern game, Bailey is averaging 17.9 points per game, which is good enough to rank 52nd nationally and first in the SoCon. The senior guard ranks first in the SoCon and 18th in the country with 250 total points.
The Birmingham-Southern game marks the final non-conference game of the season and is the second game of a four-game homestand.
