2023 SAMFORD SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Home games with SEC powers Auburn and Alabama, as well as cross-town rival UAB, a pair of home tournaments and the always tough Southern Conference slate highlight the Samford softball program's 2023 schedule, released by head coach Kimball Cassady Friday afternoon.
 
"We are really excited for this team to have the opportunity to compete against some of the best softball programs in the country this season," Cassady said. "As a staff, we wanted to challenge our team in non-conference play to help prepare us for SoCon play, and we feel like we did a great job of that.  We are excited to be hosting both Auburn and Alabama on campus this season and hope we can bring in a great crowd to enjoy some great softball."
 
The Bulldogs open the season at a tournament hosted by Southern Mississippi, Feb. 10-12. Samford will take on Seton Hall and Southern Miss twice each in that tournament.
 
Samford will co-host a tournament with UAB, Feb. 17-19. The Bulldogs will match up with Ball State, Belmont and Lindenwood on Friday and Saturday at the Samford Softball Stadium, and then will play at UAB on Sunday for the first of two home events.
 
After playing at Alabama on Feb. 22, Samford will host the Samford Classic, Feb. 24-26. Southern Indiana and North Alabama will join the Bulldogs in the team's annual tournament. During the pre-conference schedule, Samford will also play in tournaments at Georgia, Jacksonville State and Ole Miss.
 
Samford opens Southern Conference play by hosting Mercer, Mar. 25-26. The Bulldogs will host Auburn Mar. 29 and Alabama Apr. 11. Samford will also host cross-town rival UAB Apr. 19.
 
The Southern Conference Tournament will be held May 10-13 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Admission to all home Samford softball games is free. To view the complete 2023 schedule, click on the link below.
