BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Samford women's tennis team earned a 4-3 win at Western Kentucky Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Samford improves to 3-3. Western Kentucky falls to 5-1 with the loss.
 
Samford won the doubles matches on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts to pick up the doubles point. At No. 2 doubles, Olivia Jablonski and Lindsay Song defeated Samantha Martinez and Laura Bernardos, 7-6 (4-7). On the No. 3 doubles court, Sofia Zaprianov and Samantha Nanere picked up a 6-3 win over Mariana Zegada and Sofia Blanco.
 
In singles, Samford earned wins on the No, 1, No. 3 and No. 6 courts to earn the 4-3 win. At No. 1 singles, Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg defeated Cora-Lynn vonDungern, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). On the No. 3 singles court, Samantha Nanere defeated Paola Cortez, 7-5, 6-4. At No. 6 singles, Song defeated Alexis Cramer, 7-5, 6-3.
 
Samford will host UT Martin Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center. Admission to all home matches is free.
