Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bulldogs Pull Out 76-74 Nail-Biter Over The Citadel

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's basketball team continued its hot streak with a dramatic 76-74 win over The Citadel Monday evening in the Pete Hanna Center.

Samford has now won eight of its last nine games. The Bulldogs improve to 19-9 overall and 9-7 in Southern Conference play. The nine conference wins are tied for the most Samford has ever won in the SoCon. The Citadel falls to 11-16 overall and 5-11 in SoCon play.

"We showed great fight," Samford head coach Bucky McMillan said. "Again, the last four minutes we win a tight game. What a home game atmosphere. It took everybody in this building to get it done tonight. How do you make up for two points? That's what we won by. Sometimes it's an offensive rebound, sometimes it's a loose ball, sometimes it's a tip-in, sometimes it's the fans being so great, they can make them miss two free throws. Major hats off to what everybody in the building did tonight, fighting as one. The players get a lot of credit, but the fans are part of this team just as much as the players. I'm super proud of the win."

Ques Glover led Samford with 26 points and five assists. Jermaine Marshall posted his 10th double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Logan Dye also had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
