HOUMA, La. – The Samford men's golf team placed seventh out of 13 teams at a tournament hosted by Nicholls State, Monday and Tuesday at Ellendale Country Club (Par 72, 7,120 yards).
"It was a good final round for us," Samford head coach
Al DelGreco said. "
Davis Woodliff had another good tournament for his second-straight top 10 finish.
Andrew Sullivan had a really good final round with the low round for us today."
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of 885 (298-292-295), good for seventh in the event. Southeastern Louisiana won the tournament with a score of 859 (280-285-294).
Individually for Samford,
Davis Woodliff had another strong tournament, shooting a two-under par 214 (72-70-72), tying for third in the 80-player field.
Andrew Sullivan had the low round on Tuesday for Samford with a 71 and finished in a tie for 31
st at 223 (76-76-71).
Craig Sanders also tied for 31
st with a score of 223 (74-72-77).
Brian Boles tied for 42
nd at 226 (76-75-75), while
Dylan Moncus tied for 74
th at 236 (81-75-80).
Brendan Reilly and
Wesley Heston both played as individuals from Samford, with their scores not counting towards the team total. Reilly tied for 39
th at 225 (75-75-75), while
Wesley Heston finished 80
th at 245 (75-83-87).
Samford will next play in the Wofford Invitational, April 11-12 in Spartanburg, S.C.
