SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford senior goalkeeper
Morgan McAslan was named the Southern Conference's Defensive Player of the Week when the league released its weekly women's soccer awards Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs went 1-0-1 last week with a 4-1 win over Murray State and a 0-0 tie with 12
th-ranked Ole Miss. In the win over Murray State, McAslan saved eight shots, allowing just the one goal. Against Ole Miss, she tallied two saves in posting her third shutout of the season.
For the season, McAslan has a 3-0-1 record and an impressive 0.25 goals against average. She has tallied 16 saves so far this season.
McAslan and the Bulldogs will host Army Thursday at 12 p.m. at Shauna Yelton Field. Admission to the game is free.
