Bulldog Volleyball Concludes Regular Season At Chattanooga And Mercer

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the final weekend of the 2023 regular season, the Samford will hit the road once again for a contest with the Chattanooga Mocs on Friday night before heading to Mercer for the regular season finale.Â

 Friday's contest at Chattanooga will get underway at 5 p.m. CT and can be viewed on ESPN+ with Saturday's finale at Mercer slated for a 5 p.m. CT start in Macon.Â
 Â
To open the final road trip of the season, Samford pulled off a pair of five-set thrilling victories over the Buccaneers of ETSU and the Catamounts of Western Carolina.Â
 Â
 Gracie Lynn Butler and Kaleigh Meritt rank top six in the SoCon in total kills, with Butler (396) sitting in second and Meritt (319) in sixth. Butler enters the weekend sitting 20th in the country with her 396 total kills and 28th averaging 4.12 kills per set.Â

 Middle blockers Greer Golden (.305) and Kate Wonus (.288) rank fourth and seventh in the SoCon in hitting percentage while junior libero Kate Morgan sits sixth in the league with an average of 3.93 dig per set.Â

 The last time that Samford and Chattanooga met on the court, The Bulldogs swept the Mocs 3-0 in the program's Annual Dig Orange match. Samford has bested Chattanooga seven times in the last 10 meetings between the two programs.Â

 Before dropping the October contest with Mercer, the Bulldogs had won seven of their last nine and 13 of their last 16 meetings.Â
