Bulldogs Tie For Ninth At Low Country Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Samford women's golf team tied for ninth at the Low Country Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford, Friday through Sunday at the Moss Creek Golf Club (Par 72, 6,009 yards).

The teams played the first round Friday, but Saturday's scheduled second round was postponed due to inclement weather, and the tournament concluded with round two on Sunday. Samford finished with a team total of 638 (323-315), tying with Seton Hall for ninth place in the 19-team event. Quinnipiac won the tournament with a score of 619 (317-302).

Freshman Anika Richards led Samford individually, tying for 11^th in the 105-player field with a two-round total of 155 (79-76). Kelley Topiwala tied for 17^th at 158 (79-79). Bailey Dunstan tied for 27^th with a score of 160 (83-77), while Christian Williams tied for 60^th at 165 (82-83). Sophie Membrino tied for 73^rd with a score of 169 (85-84).

Samford will next compete in the Murray State Jan Weaver Invitational, April 3-4 in Murray, Ky.
