SPARTANBURG, S.C – The Samford men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 Southern Conference win at Wofford Sunday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 8-8 overall and 3-1 in SoCon play. Wofford falls to 5-12 overall and 1-3 in league action.
 
In doubles, Samford won on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts to take a 1-0 lead. At No. 1, Maxwell Giddens and Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Ian Rasheed and Will Fullett, 6-4. On the No. 2 doubles court, Mohammed Ali Bellalouna and Matthew Gooch earned a 6-3 win over Alex Horn and Robbie Young.
 
Samford then swept the six singles matches for the 7-0 win. On the No. 1 singles court, Bellalouna defeated Ashe Ray, 6-2, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, Giddens defeated Young, 7-6, 6-3. On the No. 3 singles court, Mohandoss earned a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Fullett.
 
At No. 4 singles, J.B. Pickard defeated Horn, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. At the No. 5 singles position, Darcy Nicholls earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Max Graham. At No. 6 singles, Santiago Arredondo defeated Rasheed, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Samford will play at Furman Monday. The match is set for a 2 p.m. (CT) start from Greenville, S.C.
