Raymond Named SoCon Student-Athlete Of The Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mary Raymond, a senior on the Samford soccer team, was named the Southern Conference's Student-Athlete of the Week when the league released its weekly academic award Wednesday afternoon.
Raymond has been a standout both on the field and in the classroom throughout her time at Samford. She currently has a 3.98 grade point average in health sciences. She has been named to the Southern Conference's Academic Honor Roll four times while at Samford, and she is a three-time member of the SoCon's Fall Academic All-Conference team.
In last week's 5-0 win at Wofford, Raymond led the team with a pair of goals. She scored the second goal of the game in the 11th minute of the contest. She later added the game's fourth goal in the 54th minute. For the season, Raymond is tied for the team lead in goals with three, and in points with eight.
