BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University soccer team checked in at number eight in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region Rankings announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs moved up two spots from their No. 10 rankings in last week's poll. Samford, who is the lone non-SEC program listed in the rankings, is joined by in-state foes Alabama (3) and Auburn (10) who the Bulldogs both played to a scoreless draw earlier this season.
Samford (2-1-3) has allowed zero goals in three games against SEC opponents while also having conceded just two goals all year.
The Bulldogs will continue their nonconference slate on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Troy, with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m.
