HOUSTON, Texas. – The Samford men's golf team finished 10
th at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, hosted by Rice, Monday and Tuesday at Westwood Country Club (Par 72).
The Bulldogs finished with a three-round score of 18-over-par 882 (299-287-296) in the tournament to place 10
th in the 11-team field. Sam Houston won the event with a final score of 837 (273-278-286).
Individually for Samford,
Gavin Isbell (73-70-77) and
Garrison Guthrie (78-73-69) both tied for 44
th in the 81-player field with identical three-round scores of four-over-par 220.
Damin Strydom placed 56
th at 223 (74-73-76), while
Matthew Smith tied for 57
th with a score of 224 (75-71-78) and
Nolen Wolfe tied for 70
th at 229 (77-78-74).
Craig Sanders played as an individual, tying for 49
th with a score of 221 (73-75-73).
Samford will wrap up the fall season by playing in the MartinFed Invitational, hosted by North Alabama, in Killen, Ala., Oct. 14-15.
