BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 5-2 win over Mercer Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford now has a record of 13-7 overall and 6-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs will be the No. 2 seed for next week's Southern Conference Tournament. Mercer fell to 7-11 overall and 4-2 in SoCon play.
 
In doubles, Samford won at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions to take the first point of the match. At No. 1 doubles, Maxwell Giddens and Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Lucas Dini and Andrew Branicki, 6-1. On the No. 3 doubles court, Yerrassyl Murat and Darcy Nicholls defeated Samuel MacLeod and Samuel Barrow, 6-3.
 
In singles, Samford won at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 to finish off the 5-2 win. At No. 2 singles, Mohandoss defeated Dini, 6-3, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, Nicholls earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Marceau Fouilhoux. On the No. 5 singles court, Santiago Arredondo defeated MacLeod, 6-3, 7-6, 6-2. At No. 6 singles, Sebastian Harrison defeated Victor Putter, 6-3, 7-5.
 
The pairings for next week's SoCon Tournament will be announced by the league on Sunday.
