BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford's Director of Athletics Martin Newton announced on Friday that the university has accepted the resignation of head softball coach Kimball Cassady.
 
Cassady spent three seasons at the helm of the Bulldog softball program compiling an 84-82 record during her time on Lakeshore Drive.
 
Samford will immediately begin a national search for the next leader of the softball program.
