Men’s Golf Places Third At Turtle Point Invite

KILLEN, Ala. – The Samford men's golf team placed third in the Turtle Point Invitational, hosted by North Alabama Monday and Tuesday at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.

As a team, Samford shot a six-over-par 870 (284-289-297) to place third in the 11-tam event. The host school, North Alabama won the tournament with a three-round total of 842 (278-276-288). Samford also had a "B" team competing in the event, which placed ninth with a tournament total of 906 (289-296-321).

Samford's playing five was led by Gavin Isbell, tying for fourth in the 75-player field, with a three-round score of 207 (66-71-70). Campbell Sciortino tied for 32^nd at 221 (71-73-77), while Jack Mikesell tied for 37^th with a score of 222 (73-73-76). Tiaan Hugo tied for 45^th at 224 (74-72-78), while Mark Neeley tied for 60^th at 230 (76-80-74).

The Samford "B" team was led by Matthew Smith, tying for 28^th with a three-round total of 220 (71-72-77). Blake Gayles tied for 49^th at 225 (72-75-78), while Nolen Wolfe placed 56^th with a final score of 228 (73-75-80). Wils Moore tied for 63^rd at 233 (73-74-86).

Next up, Samford will compete in the Florida Atlantic Invitational, Oct. 27-28 in West Palm Beach. Fla.
