GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT WOFFORD (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford football team will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on the Wofford Terriers Saturday at 12:30 p.m. (CT) at Gibbs Stadium. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
 
Samford enters the game with a record of 1-7 overall and 1-5 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs dropped a 49-13 decision to Chattanooga last weekend. Wofford is currently 2-6 overall and 1-3 in league play. The Terriers fell at ETSU, 14-10, last weekend.  
Samford and Wofford are meeting for the 23rd time, with Samford owning a 16-6 series lead. Last season, Wofford earned a 17-13 win at Pete Hanna Stadium. Wofford's win last season broke Samford's nine-game win streak in the series. Since Samford joined the Southern Conference in 2008, the Bulldogs own a 12-5 series lead. The last time the teams played in Spartanburg was in 2023, with Samford picking up a 31-10 victory over the Terriers.
The last time out, Samford dropped a 49-13 decision to Chattanooga last Saturday at Pete Hanna Stadium. For Samford in the loss, quarterback 
Brady Stober was 12-of-28 for 86 yards, while 
Charlie Gilliam was 9-of-15 for 138 yards. Stober scored one rushing touchdown as did 
Ken Cherry. 
Jaden Gibson led all Samford receivers with seven catches for 77 yards. For the Samford defense, 
Donovan Grayson had six tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss. 
Jaden Mosley, 
Malik Thornton and Conroy Cunningham had five tackles each.
If Samford is able to earn a win Saturday at Wofford, the victory would be the 500th win in the history of the Bulldogs' program. Samford now has 499 wins in the long history of the program.
