BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford head coach
Todd Yelton was ranked among the top 10 Division I women's soccer coaches nationally by Chris Henderson with the WoSo Independent.
Yelton, Samford's all-time winningest coach, was ranked eighth in the ranking of the top 60 coaches in the nation. He is the highest ranked coach from a Southern Conference school and from a school in the state of Alabama.
Yelton has a career record of 341-154-73, including a mark of 301-122-69 in his 24 seasons in charge of the Samford program.
He has led Samford to 11 SoCon regular season championships, seven SoCon Tournament championships, four Ohio Valley Conference regular season championships and one OVC Tournament title.
Yelton has coached his teams to a total of nine NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the tournament in 2005, 2007, 2011, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025.
