CORDOVA, Tenn. – The Samford men's golf team placed seventh in the Memphis Intercollegiate, held Monday and Tuesday at Colonial Country Club.
Samford finished with a three-round team score of 918 (304-303-311) to finish seventh in the 15-team event. Illinois won the tournament with a final score of 878 (298-291-289).
Garrison Guthrie led all Samford players, placing in a tie for 12
th in the 84-player field with a three-round score of 224 (72-74-78).
Matthew Smith tied for 25
th with a final score of 228 (78-75-75), while
Damin Strydom tied for 35
th at 231 (77-76-78).
Gavin Isbell tied for 53
rd with a score of 236 (77-78-71), while
Craig Sanders tied for 72
nd at 245 (82-83-80).
Next up, Samford will compete in the Arkansas State Spring Intercollegiate, April 14-15, in Jonesboro, Ark.
