"I thought everything about this game was hard," Samford head coach Todd Yelton said. "We spent a lot of energy Thursday night against Western Carolina. For the kids to pick themselves up off the mat and fight today against what I think is a pretty fantastic team in Chattanooga against a great coach and coaching staff, it was hard. I can't tell you how proud I am of my kids to be able to gut it out on a really, really tough day."

Samford's Brooklyn Miller got the scoring started in the 30th minute with her goal off an assist from Hanna Rae Himes. In the 85th minute, Sam De Luca netted her team-leading fifth goal of the season off another assist from Himes.
