SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford sophomore setter Shea Bruntmyer was named the Southern Conference Setter of the Week for the second time this season. The league released its weekly volleyball awards Monday afternoon. 

Bruntmyer tallied 45 assists in Samford's 3-0 win over UAB Saturday night. In Samford's other two matches in the Alabama Challenge, she recorded 81 assists for a total of 126 over the three-game span. So far in the early season Bruntmyer has a total of 372 assists.

Next up, Samford will open conference play against UNCG on Friday in Greensboro, N.C at 5 p.m.
