Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bulldogs Down Wofford 97-80 at Home

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's basketball team closed out a home stand against Wofford tonight at the Pete Hanna Center. The Bulldogs were firing on all cylinders offensively and led throughout the night on their way to a 97-80 victory. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 14-12 on the season and 7-6 in Southern Conference play.

The Bulldogs played one of their best offensive games of the season as they got off to a hot start from the field. They built a 20-10 lead early on, led by Jadin Booth and Cade Norris, who each scored 14 points in the opening 20 minutes of play. Booth went 5-of-8 from the field while Cade was 6-of-8, as the pair knocked down five threes in the first half.

As a team, the Dogs shot 58 percent in the first half while holding Wofford to 41 percent. Dylan Faulkner controlled the paint, adding seven points and nine rebounds in the first half as he was limited due to foul trouble on the night. The Dogs were plus 15 from the three-point line as they took a commanding 47-34 lead into the half.

Samford asserted their offensive dominance in the second half, getting whatever they wanted from the field as they shot 70 percent as a team. Five different Bulldogs scored seven or more points in the second half, and five players ended the night in double figures. Booth led the way with a game-high 25 points as he went 9-of-13 from the field. Cade finished with a career-high 17 points while his brother Keaton Norris scored 14 and dished out eight assists.

Faulkner finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds, his sixth-straight double-double in just 15 minutes, while Zion Wilburn added 10 points off the bench as the Dogs were without starter Isaiah Campbell-Finch. Kam Martin stepped into the starting lineup and finished with nine points and five rebounds.

The Terriers picked up their offensive output in the second half, scoring 46 points and shooting 49 percent, but they couldn't slow down the Bulldogs as they captured the 17-point win. Samford led by as many as 23 points in the second half and finished shooting 63 percent for the game, a season-high. Samford dominated the glass, outrebounding Wofford 37-21, and shared the ball effectively, tallying 20 assists on 34 made baskets.

The Bulldogs will take their four-game winning streak on the road. They travel to Johnson City, Tenn., to face ETSU on Saturday, Feb. 14. ETSU is 19-7 on the season and defeated Samford 76-75 when the sides met earlier this year.
