BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Samford men's tennis team opened Southern Conference play in dominant fashion on Saturday, sweeping Wofford College 7-0 at the Samford Tennis Center. The victory moves the Bulldogs to 7-5 overall and 1-0 in SoCon action.

Samford established control early by claiming the doubles point with wins on all three courts. The pairing of Sandeep Mohandoss and Darcy Nicholls battled to a 7-6 triumph to set the tone. Sebastian Harrison and Vitorio Sardinha followed with a 6-3 victory, while Lukas Dvorak and Cooper Errey sealed the sweep with a commanding 6-2 win.

With a 1-0 lead in hand, the Bulldogs showcased their depth and resilience in singles competition.

At the start of singles play Mohandoss rebounded after dropping the opening set to earn a gritty 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 comeback win. Nicholls also went the distance, responding to a second-set setback with a dominant 6-0 final set to secure a 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 victory.

Sebastian Harrison delivered a straight-sets performance , pulling away late in each set for a 6-4, 7-5 decision. Santiago Arredondo controlled his match, earning a 6-4, 6-2 win, while Lukas Dvorak added a 6-3, 6-1 win.

The most dramatic finish of the afternoon came on court six, where Cooper Errey outlasted his opponent in a tightly contested battle. After splitting the first two sets, Errey prevailed in an extended super tiebreak, 16-14, to complete the 7-0 sweep for the Bulldogs.

Samford will continue Southern Conference play next weekend at UNCG.
