WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Samford men's golf team sits in fourth place after the opening round of the Southern Conference Championship, held Monday at the Solina Golf Club.
As a team, Samford shot a one-under-par 283 in the first round to place fourth in the eight-team field. Chattanooga leads the tournament with a score of 275.
Individually for Samford,
Gavin Isbell and
Campbell Sciortino are both tied for fourth in the 40-player field, with both shooting three-under-par 68.
Blake Gayles shot a 72 to tie for 19
th after the first round.
Jack Mikesell sits in 30
th at 75, while
Matthew Smith is tied for 37
th with a score of 79.
The teams will continue the tournament with the second round on Tuesday. Tee times start at 8 a.m. (CT) and fans can follow the action live online at the following link:
