WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Samford men's golf team finished eighth in the Southern Conference Championship, held Monday through Wednesday at the Solina Golf Club.
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of 32-over-par 884 (283-305-296). Chattanooga won the event with a final score of 847 (275-290-282).
Individually for Samford,
Gavin Isbell led Samford, tying for 10
th in the 42-player field, with a three-round score of two-over-par 215 (68-73-74).
Campbell Sciortino tied for 21
st with a final score of 220 (68-77-75).
Blake Gayles placed 36
th at 227 (72-74-81).
Jack Mikesell finished 37
th with a three-round score of 229 (75-82-72).
Tiaan Hugo, who was a substitute for the first two rounds, played in place of
Matthew Smith in Wednesday's final round, shooting a four-over-par 75.
