Very skilled offensive post player . . . has added strength and improved his athleticism over the offseason . . . excellent perimeter shooter and ball-handler who is learning to be more efficient in the low post . . . must improve upon his rebounding numbers from last year.
2010-11 (freshman): Recipient of Samford’s Most Improved Player award . . . started 28 of the team’s 31 games and shot 41.2 percent from the arc . . . also earned the team’s Scholastic award which is given to the player who finishes the year with the best grade-point average . . . concluded the season ranked eighth in the Southern Conference in 3-point shooting percentage with a 41.2 mark . . . also finished the year ranked No. 12 in the SoCon in blocked shots per game (0.6) . . . averaged 6.2 points and 1.9 rebounds per game . . . earned playing time in all 31 contests of the season and averaged 17.2 minutes per outing . . . led Samford in blocks with 20 . . . played a key role in the Bulldogs’ defense that finished second in the SoCon in both scoring defense (66.8) and field-goal percentage defense (43.2) . . . went 1-for-3 from 3-point range against Chattanooga (Feb. 26) . . . knocked down 35-of-85 of his attempts from beyond the arc to end the season . . . finished with a career-high 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field against Asbury (Dec. 18) . . . knocked down 3-of-5 attempts from 3-point range and added four assists . . . scored 15 points on a perfect 5-for-5 outing from the field against Middle Tennessee (Nov. 20) . . . was 3-for-3 from beyond the arc and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line . . . finished with a team-high 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field against Elon (Jan. 8) . . . knocked down 3-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc and added four rebounds, a block and an assist . . . earned his first varsity letter.
2009-10: Redshirted.
High School: Averaged 15.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as a senior at South Milwaukee High School . . . led his team in all three offensive categories in 2008-09 . . . named Team Captain and was voted Most Valuable Player as a senior . . . named to the 2009 All-Suburban Milwaukee team . . . earned Outstanding Male Athlete for the class of 2009 at SMHS . . . as a junior, he averaged six points, five rebounds and a blocked shot per game while leading his team to a 13-9 record . . . played under the tutelage of head coach John Riggins and was named to the Honorable Mention Team of the Northern Division of Wisconsin's Southeast Conference . . . member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society . . . received a National Scholar Athlete award from the United States Army Reserve . . . graduated in the top-10 percent of his class (23 of 296 students) . . . earned the Presidential Gold Academic Achievement Award . . . also played volleyball, soccer and golf in high school.
