2012 SECOND-TEAM ALL-SOUTHERN CONFERENCE
Senior (2013): Teamed with sophomore Trey Carter to claim the Flight 1 doubles championship title at the Samford Fall Invite . . . opened the USTA/ITA Southern Regionals in impressive fashion as he defeated Nicholls State’s Sam Meeson in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(6) . . . teamed with true freshman Liam Sullivan to defeat South Alabama’s combination of Daniel Leitner and Tuki Jacobs, 8-5.
Junior (2012-13): Finished the season with a stellar 15-9 overall record in singles play as well as an 8-2 mark against Southern Conference opponents . . . tallied a key three-match singles winning streak in the SoCon Tournament as he helped guide the Bulldogs to the championship title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament . . . at No. 2 doubles, he competed with teammate Austin Akers and registered a 9-5 record, including a 7-3 mark in SoCon play . . . won eight of his final nine singles matches of the regular season . . . Samford faced five nationally-ranked opponents in dual-match play . . . earned an 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory against No. 45-ranked Alabama’s B. O’Shaughnessey on Feb. 6, as the Bulldogs knocked off the Crimson Tide for the first time in over 51 years . . . earned his third varsity letter.
Sophomore (2011-12): Received Second-Team All-SoCon honors by finishing league play with a stellar 9-1 singles record . . . concluded the season with the best singles record in the conference at 18-2 . . . competed at court No. 3 for a majority of the year and compiled a stellar 18-2 singles record at the position . . . concluded the season tied for second place with the SoCon’s best singles record (9-1) . . . finished with the conference’s best record in league play at court No. 3 (9-1) . . . concluded the year with a team-best 18-2 overall singles record, including a stellar 7-1 mark and five-match winning streak to close out the season . . . teamed with former Bulldog Ryan Shidler in doubles play and earned a 6-3 SoCon record, which was ranked third on the conference . . . the pair finished the season with a 10-10 overall mark in doubles play, all of which occurred on court No. 2 . . . earned the championship title of the Flight 1 consolation bracket of the 30
th Annual UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic by defeating teammate Zac Dunkle, 6-1, 6-2, in the title match . . . also earned the consolation championship title of the Flight 2 doubles bracket . . . earned his first varsity letter.
Freshman (2010-11): Transferred to Samford from Middle Tennessee in the summer of 2011 . . . as a freshman at Middle Tennessee, he won three of his last four matches to end the fall season . . . posted a 4-5 overall singles record . . . reached the semifinals of the Crimson Tide Fall Championships . . . defeated Louisville's Adam Donaldson 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3 at the Louisville Winter Invitational . . . earned a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Alabama's Carlos Taborga to reach the semifinals of the Crimson Tide Fall Championships . . . in doubles play, he paired with Matthew Langley at the beginning of the season in wins over teams from Vanderbilt and Louisville . . . paired with Shaun Waters to post a 3-3 record . . . ended the fall season with an overall 5-6 record in doubles play.
High School: Played at Twycross Howe School under the tutelage of head coach Gary Naughton . . . advanced to the semifinals of the Orange Bowl, which is the most notable tournament outside of the Grand Slam . . . received a scholarship to attend the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida.
